“C vitamini, saç, cilt ve diş sağlığınız için temel bir destek”

Internal Medicine Specialist Prof. Dr. Aytaç Atamer points out that the need for vitamin C, which must be provided through daily nutrition, may not be met in some situations and irregular eating habits.

He states that the risk of vitamin C deficiency increases in cases of chronic diarrhea, in people who eat irregularly after burns or surgical interventions, and in those who consume alcohol and smoke. Emphasizing that these situations may negatively affect vitamin C levels in the body, he draws attention to healthy eating habits and appropriate precautions.

Internal Medicine Specialist Prof. Dr. Aytaç Atamer from NPİSTANBUL Hospital, Üsküdar University evaluated the issue of vitamin C deficiency and gave information on how to eliminate vitamin C deficiency.

Vitamin C is abundant in citrus fruits

Internal Medicine Specialist Prof. Dr. Aytaç Atamer pointed out that under normal conditions, there is no vitamin C deficiency with daily nutrition and said, “Because vitamin C is abundant in the foods we call citrus fruits. However, vitamin C deficiency occurs in cases where there is not a sufficiently balanced diet, especially in cases of chronic diarrhea, in people who eat irregularly after burns or surgical interventions, and in those who consume alcohol or smoke.”

Pointing out that vitamin C supplementation is necessary in such cases, Internal Medicine Specialist Prof. Dr. Aytaç Atamer said, “Vitamin C is very important for a regular life, hair, skin and dental health.”

How to eliminate vitamin C deficiency?

Prof. Dr. Aytaç Atamer said, “Vitamin C deficiency is not common under normal conditions. In cases of vitamin C deficiency, supplements can be taken orally, intravenously or intravenously, with the advice of a doctor. Upper respiratory tract infections increase, especially as we enter the winter months. It is necessary to take vitamin C supplements to overcome these infections more easily.”

What are the symptoms of vitamin C deficiency?

Declaring that vitamin C is a vitamin that is not resistant to heat and is not produced in the body, Internal Medicine Specialist Prof. Dr. Aytaç Atamer concluded his words as follows,

“Vitamin C is a very important source of antioxidants, so it is an important vitamin that prevents infections and cancer. Apart from this, vitamin C plays an important role in collagen synthesis in our body and forms the collagen structure. Lack of collagen causes wrinkles on the skin, dryness in the hair, and easy breakage. Since vitamin C also strengthens the immune system, it also increases body resistance, especially in upper respiratory tract infections, and plays an important role in healing the disease. Vitamin C deficiency also causes bleeding gums, pain, swelling and easy bruising in the joints.”
